Tooth Pain & Root Canal Treatment
Root canal treatment for tooth pain.
A toothache can come from decay, infection, a crack, gum trouble or even a bite problem. We first find the cause. If the soft tissue inside a tooth is infected, root canal treatment can remove the infection and help preserve the natural tooth.

Questions about tooth pain & root canal.
Does every toothache need a root canal?
No. Tooth pain has several causes. A clinical examination and, when needed, an X-ray help determine whether you need a filling, gum care, root canal treatment or another option.
Is root canal treatment painful?
The area is numbed with local anaesthesia. You may feel pressure during treatment and mild tenderness afterward, but the aim is to remove the source of infection and pain.
Should I wait if the pain stops?
Pain can sometimes reduce even while an infection remains. It is safer to have the tooth assessed, especially if there has been swelling, night pain or prolonged sensitivity.
